The GrimDark Files update - Some older and newer books and one awesome game!

Good evening everyone! How is everyone?

I do hope that everyone is reading something awesome and enjoying it! I am currently reading "The Magicians Guild" : Book 1 of "The Black Magician Trilogy" by Trudy Canavan and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I needed something to ease myself back in to the Fantasy genre after reading Star Wars:Aftermath:Empires End, this book and series was reccomended me to by the good folk at Fantasy Faction and yes people it is brilliant. Here is a brief premise of The Magician's Guild:

**Each year the magicians of Imardin gather together to purge the city streets of vagrants, urchins and miscreants. Masters of the disciplines of magic, they know that no one can oppose them. But their protective shield is not as impenetrable as they believe.

Sonea, angry, frustrated and outraged by the treatment of her family and friends, hurls a stone at the shield, putting all her rage behind it. To the amazement of all who bear witness, the stone passes unhindered through the barrier and renders a magician unconscious.

The guild's worst fear has been realised . . . There is an untrained magician loose on the streets. She must be found before her uncontrolled powers unleash forces that will destroy both her, and the city that is her home.**

This is great story of class, power, intrigue and coming of age and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Moving, pictured is my current reading and soon to be read pile which includes Jen Williams new book "The Ninth Rain". book 1 of "The Winnowing Flame Trilogy". Jen's first trilogy "The Copper Cat Trilogy" is fantastic and I thoroughly recommend it to all. Jen's new book holds a lot of promise, Laura M Hughes has said this is a book well worth your time and I for one am thoroughly looking forward to it.

Apart from reading, my life has been steadily taken over by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this is a fantastic game which is a strong contender for game of the year, I kid you not.

Anyway, that is what I am reading what are you reading? Leave a comment so that we can discuss the wonderful genre that is fantasy!

Happy reading as always
